TFK Kid Reporter Camryn Garrett meets with actress G Hannelius at the Nintendo World Store, in New York City.

Have you ever wished that you could interact with your favorite Disney characters? In the new game Disney Magical World for Nintendo 3DS, players can do just that while customizing their own café, and visiting worlds inspired by Winnie the Pooh, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, and Aladdin.

TFK Kid Reporter Camryn Garrett spoke with Dog with a Blog actress G Hannelius at the launch of the game in New York City on April 12. Hannelius talked about the game, her show, fashion, and more!

TFK:

Why did you decide to help spread the word about the Disney Magical World game?

G HANNELIUS:

I love this game. I think what I love most about this game is that it’s perfect for all ages, and it unites all Disney fans and Nintendo fans together in this magical world.

TFK:

Are you good at the game?

HANNELIUS:

I don’t think that you need to be good at the game. You just create. It’s all about making it your own, and you get better as you keep playing the mini games.

TFK:

What worlds in the game do you think you spend the most time in?

HANNELIUS:

I love all of the worlds! I don’t think that I could pick one specific favorite. I love the Aladdin world. It’s really cool. And I love just going into the café, because you get to customize it.

TFK:

Who is your favorite Disney character?

HANNELIUS:

I love Aladdin, but I have to say Minnie.

TFK:

There are so many of your fans here. Does being surrounded by fans ever get overwhelming?

HANNELIUS:

No. I honestly love it. Actually, a few months ago, I did a meet-and -greet in Sacramento, California, and I was just signing autographs and taking photos for two hours straight. I didn’t even get sick of it because it’s just so fun to see everybody and to hear how much they love Dog with a Blog. To see how excited they are while I’m excited is just really fun.

TFK:

Dog with a Blog was recently renewed for a third season. What has been your favorite part of working on the show?

HANNELIUS:

I love the cast. We’ve all become like a real family and they’re really like my second family. We actually started the third season yesterday, and I’m so excited to get back! I love making new episodes and seeing them—and how excited everyone is on Twitter about them.

Can you give us any hints about what happens during the third season?

HANNELIUS:

I actually don’t know what’s going to happen. I will say that Avery’s friends Max and Lindsay come back. Karl Fink returns and he knows Stan’s secret so there’s a lot that could happen there! We’re going to have another Halloween episode, so it’s going to be a really great season.

TFK:

Why do you think so many people are excited for the show’s new season?

HANNELIUS:

I think that people can relate to the show. I think that it’s a wacky family and everybody’s family is wacky, but loveable. Even though the characters are exaggerated, I think that Avery is a real girl who has teenage problems that lots of girls go through, like friendship problems, boy drama, and school drama. I think that a lot of young girls can relate to her. Plus, all of our episodes send a message to the viewer at the end.

TFK:

You recently released two singles. Did you write both of them?

HANNELIUS:

Yes, I write all of my songs.

TFK:

So would you say that they’re based on real-life events?

HANNELIUS:

Bits and pieces of both songs. I think “Moonlight” is just a very happy song, and it’s totally based on real life. “Stay Away” is a little bit of a story, with parts of it that have real pieces and parts of it I made up.

TFK:

What other projects are you working on?

HANNELIUS:

My Jessie episode just aired, and we just started working on season 3 of Dog with a Blog. We filmed five episodes of Win, Loose, or Draw, but I think only two of them have come out.

TFK:

You’re also known for your fashion interests. What do you like most about fashion?

HANNELIUS:

I love that it’s a great way to express yourself. Especially through nail art, too, because you can come up with unique designs and express your personality.

TFK:

Do you have any advice for kids who are interested in fashion or acting?

HANNELIUS:

If you’re interested in acting, definitely pursue it by taking classes. I started off doing plays when I was living in Maine, so start off doing school plays or community plays. If you’re interested in fashion, you can learn how to sew or knit. Or try out nail art! I have some tutorials on YouTube at GByGNailArt.
