Everyone's favorite kung-fu-fighting panda is back, and he's got some brand new moves. When audiences last saw Po (voiced by Black), the bear had proven that he has what it takes to be the Dragon Warrior. In Kung Fu Panda 2, Po's story picks up where the 2008 hit animated film left off. This time, the panda must save China—and kung fu itself—from a new enemy. The evil peacock Lord Shen (Oldman) has invented a powerful weapon that threatens to wipe out the ancient martial art for good. Can Po and the Furious Five stop Shen in time? Or will a nagging mystery from Po's past keep the panda from fulfilling his duties?

Black promises a movie that's both entertaining and "packs an emotional wallop." Voicing the bear again "feels good," Black told TFK, "like putting on a warm pair of boots." Click here for the full interview.

Did You Know?

When work began on the first Kung Fu Panda, Po did not have a parental figure. But as the story developed, the writers felt that having a parent was necessary for Po's journey. How did they choose Mr. Ping, the noodle-making goose, to be Po's father? "The obvious choice would be to just give Po a panda dad, but we always knew we wanted Po to be the only panda in the village," says Jonathan Aibel, a screenwriter on the film.

"So we asked the animators, 'What do you have?' And we saw there were bunnies, there were ducks and there was this goose," says Aibel's co-screenwriter, Glenn Berger. "And we thought, 'What if the goose was his dad? But how could that be?' That led to all these questions . . . It forced us to make a more unusual choice. In the end, I think it made for a more interesting movie."
