Directed by John Lasseter, Co-directed by Brad Lewis
Starring Owen Wilson, Larry the Cable Guy, Emily Mortimer, Michael Caine
Race car Lightning McQueen (Wilson) and tow truck Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) head out on a road trip to remember in Cars 2. In the 3-D sequel, the pair travels the globe as McQueen competes in the first-ever World Grand Prix. The automotive buddies visit such places as Japan and Europe. But it's Mater who goes for the ride of his life, when British agents mistake him for a spy. Emily Mortimer voices one of the agents, Holley Shiftwell, a sleek purple coupe. "I wish I were as glam as Holley in real life!" Mortimer jokes.
Did You Know?
Every Pixar movie features "Easter eggs," or hidden references, to previous Pixar films. In Cars 2, Lightning McQueen's "Lightyear" tires are a wink to Toy Story character Buzz Lightyear. McQueen's number, 95, also refers to the year 1995, when the first Toy Story was released.
