President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney met on October 16 for the election season's second presidential debate. It was held at Hofstra University, in Hempstead, New York.

The event was conducted in a town-hall setting. Questions came from audience members, not from debate moderator Candy Crowley of CNN. This group of voters had not yet decided which candidate to support. "The voters' questions will drive the night," Crowley said. "My goal is to make sure questions get answered."
