What’s the basic story line?
Cady, an 11-year-old orphan, has a special talent for baking cakes. When she moves into a mysterious new home, she meets an unusual group of people who are connected to her in surprising ways. There are the siblings who are trying to find their talents, a woman who can’t speak and a man whose talent is stealing other people’s talents. Cady’s encounters with this strange cast of characters just might help her solve the mystery of her past and reunite her with a long-lost relative.
Are the characters believable? Explain.
They are very believable. They go through the types of problems we face in life and react to them like anyone would. The emotions they have always fit with the moment. Even though the characters have very strange talents, the rest of the book is very realistic.
On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being best), how would you rate this book? Explain.
I would give this book a 10 out of 10. I enjoyed it very much, and it kept me intrigued from the first word to the last. I didn’t want to put it down. It made me think that everything that happens to us is supposed to happen. This is definitely a book worth reading!
