The olinguito, found in the cloud forests of Ecuador and Colombia, is related to the raccoon. It eats mainly fruit, but experts say it may also eat some insects.

Sunda Clouded Leopard
The Sunda clouded leopard was identified as a species in 2007. This wild cat is believed to live only on the Indonesian islands of Borneo and Sumatra.

Snubfin Dolphin
The snubfin dolphin was discovered to be its own species in 2005. It was previously thought to be a similar dolphin, the Irrawaddy. The snubfin is found only in Australia’s waters.

Blond Capuchi
The blond capuchin was rediscovered in Brazil. It was first spotted in the 1700s, but was never seen again until 2009, when a scientist stumbled upon it by accident.

Cypriot Mouse
The Cypriot mouse was discovered in 2006, on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. The species may have been living there for at least 9,000 years before it was identified.

Pygmy Three-toed Sloth
The pygmy three-toed sloth was identified as a species in 2001. This endangered creature (less than 100 remain) lives only on Isla Escudo de Veraguas, an island off the coast of Panama.
