In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Black History Month, TIME For Kids asked several African Americans to share whom in African-American history inspired them most. A person who inspires you might encourage you to reach a goal or make you feel like you are able to do or feel something. TFK received answers from many people, including award-winning musician Alicia Keys, congressman Emanuel Cleaver II, Harlem Children's Zone Founder Geoffrey Canada, basketball players Kevin Durant and Tina Charles and singer/actress Toni Braxton. In this video, they reflect back on the life and work of important civil right leaders who inspired them.
Whom do you find most inspiring?
