Goal! The CHARLI-2 robot was the humanoid—or humanlike—winner at RoboCup 2011, an international soccer competition for robots. The aim is to create robots by 2050 that show advanced competitive behaviors and can defeat human opponents. At five feet tall, CHARLI-2 is stiff and slow. The bot was created at Virginia Tech, by Dennis Hong.
