Mythical Madness

Fans of author Rick Riordan know that his stories are based on mythology. His new series, Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard, uses this trademark storytelling strategy. The first book, The Sword of Summer, came out in October. TFK Kid Reporter Shriya Annamaneni asked Riordan all about it.

Riordan says he likes writing about mythological gods because they're timeless. "They’re sort of like our first superheroes. The gods are so amazing and they have all these powers. But they’re also very human and they have flaws," he told TFK. "You’ve got magic and romance and really anything you want in a good story—it’s all right there in the myths."
