Protecting Our Parks

Yosemite’s scenery hasn’t changed much over the past 150 years. We can thank President Abraham Lincoln. On June 30, 1864, in the midst of a civil war, he signed the Yosemite Land Grant Act. It was the first time in our country’s history that wild land was set aside for protection.
