Q&A: Snowboarder Jamie Anderson
Professional snowboarder Jamie Anderson, 23, is competing for a spot on Team USA. She hopes to be among the first athletes to go for the gold in slopestyle snowboarding, an event involving difficult tricks that will make its Olympic debut in Sochi, Russia, in February. TFK spoke with the seven-time Winter X Games medalist in New York City, where she was helping Nintendo promote its new video game, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games: Sochi 2014. The South Lake Tahoe, California, native says it would "mean the world" to go to the Olympics. "When I was 9, I was given my first hand-me-down snowboard," Anderson told TFK. "I loved being outdoors and playing. To actually make a profession out of it has been such a blessing." Watch the video above to learn more about Anderson and her partnership with Nintendo.
