SWAT Cadet Fitness Challenge
September 13, 2011SWAT Cadet Fitness Challenge
This summer, TIME For Kids Kid Reporter Taylor Pannell visited the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) to observe the SWAT Cadet Fitness Challenge. The Cadet Program was developed by the LAPD to give youths an opportunity to learn life-long skills that will help them to make a positive impact in their communities.
Like the first Fitness Challenge event, the second was held in honor of Randy Simmons, the first LAPD SWAT officer killed in the line of duty. To complete the rigorous obstacle course, the Cadets must push themselves physically, but also work as a team to reach their goal. Join TFK for an inside look at the historic Elysian Park academy, and what it takes to tackle the LAPD SWAT Cadet Fitness Challenge! (Videography by Luann Pannell/Editing by Adrian Yu)
