TFK Tells You About Twisters
Tornadoes form suddenly. There is little time to warn people. On average, an alarm sounds 13 minutes before a tornado hits. When it comes to preparing for a twister, every second counts.
Scientists at Oklahoma State University are working to give people more time to get to safety. They plan to do it with unmanned aerial vehicles that are able to get up close to nature’s most powerful storms.
In the video above, TFK explains how a tornado forms and how people can prepare for one.
