Climber Kokichi Akuzawa has become the oldest person to reach the summit of Japan’s Mount Fuji. The 102-year-old man set this Guinness World Record on August 5.

Akuzawa made the trek with his daughter, his granddaughter and her husband, and four friends. It wasn’t easy. “I was really tempted to give up halfway through,” he told the AP. “Reaching the summit was tough. But my friends encouraged me, and it turned out well.”
