Our planet is in trouble. Research shows that the climate is changing, and that the worst effects could happen sooner than expected. What will the future look like? This summer, we asked kids to imagine the Earth in 30 years.

Some of their responses are shown here. We also regularly get letters from readers who care about the environment. Many share stories about how they’ve made a positive impact at home and in their community. We are always impressed and inspired by small actions that can add up to big change. In 30 years, your generation will be the one in charge. You give us hope for that future.
