Mission of the Month: Speak Out

Join a community of kids who are making the world a better and brighter place. TFK Service Stars know that even the smallest actions can make a big impact.

Mission of the Month

Have you noticed a problem or a chance to improve something in your community? Maybe a playground needs more care, or a nonprofit needs more volunteers. By learning about an issue, raising awareness, and trying to get that problem solved, you’re doing your part to make things better. We’re featuring Service Stars who are engaging in their community. Could you be one of them? Join us, speak out, and be heard!

Need Inspiration?

  • Make a drawing, poem, or video to raise awareness about the issue. How will you show it to others?

  • Send a letter to the editor of your town or school newspaper. What will you say?

  • Contact local leaders, asking them to help address the issue. What might they not know?

  • Find others in the community who also care about the issue. Can you work together for impact?

  • Attend a town hall or school-board meeting. If your issue being discussed, share your perspective. If not, who can help you bring it up?

Stars Shine Brighter Together

When kids come together, anything’s possible. This month’s group idea is to create a civic-engagement club. Gather friends and classmates. Choose a club name. Find a time and a place to meet. Which school or community problem will you work to solve first?

Need help getting started? Talk to an adult or pair up with a friend to find an idea that feels right for you.
