SpaceX’s Starship reached orbit for the first time on September 28, marking a milestone for the rocket. While in orbit, it released 26 Starlink satellites, which provide Internet service. An engine problem prompted leaders to end the planned 10-hour mission early. About three hours after liftoff, Starship splashed down in the Pacific Ocean, near Hawaii. Despite the mishap, NASA administrator Jared Isaacman congratulated SpaceX on its “inspirational” achievement.
