Paleontologists made an exciting discovery. They found two duck-billed dinosaur “mummies” in Wyoming. The fossils are about 66 million years old. They’re called mummies because they’re well-preserved. You can clearly see their skin and spikes.
The scientists are from the University of Chicago. That’s in Illinois. They announced their findings on October 23, in the journal Science. The discovery gives researchers new information about dinosaurs. For example, it confirms that some had hooves.
Paul Sereno is one of the scientists. “There are so many amazing ‘firsts’ preserved in these duck-billed mummies,” he said in a statement.
