Hawaii has more endangered species than any state in the U.S. Below are four. The government works to protect them. People can help by caring for the environment.

Hawaiian monk seals (above) live only in Hawaiian waters. They do not spend time in groups like other seals. They spend most of their time alone.

Hawaiian geese are the last goose species in Hawaii. Their feet aren’t fully webbed. This might help them walk on differing ground.
