COLETTE HILLER is a writer and an actress. She loves sharing stories. Her latest book, The Elephant and the Piano, is based on real events. It’s about a lonely elephant named Bonti and a man named Paul who plays music for him.

Hiller told TFK that she came across a video of Paul’s online. She was touched by the story. “Some true stories are so amazing, you think they must be make-believe,” she says. Paul’s music makes Bonti happy. The Elephant and the Piano reminds readers that “animals have feelings,” Hiller says. And “they respond to human kindness.”
