Despite what you see in fiction books and movies, dinosaurs and people never lived together on Earth. In fact, they missed one another by 65 MILLION YEARS.
About two-thirds of dinosaurs were HERBIVORES: They ate only plants. Each of the biggest herbivores is believed to have eaten as much as 2,000 pounds of plants every day.
STEGOSAURS walked on all fours, weighed up to 14,000 pounds, and had plates running along their backs. Despite their great size, their brains were smaller than a tennis ball.
The longest dinosaur is believed to have been ARGENTINOSAURUS HUINCULENSIS which reached lengths of 130 feet. Argentinosaurus huinculensis weighed as much as 14 African elephants.
A fossilized skeleton of the long-necked AEGYPTOSAURUS survived for tens of millions of years until it was destroyed when the German museum that housed it was bombed during World War II.
A TYRANNOSAURUS REX could bite down on something with more force than any other creature in history. Its bite had nearly four times the force of a saltwater crocodile’s bite.
