Petunia Wins Big
Funny-looking dogs need love, too! On August 8, dog lovers gathered for the annual World’s Ugliest Dog contest. The competition took place in Santa Rosa, California. It celebrated “the imperfections that make all dogs special and unique,” according to event organizers.
A hairless bulldog mix named Petunia took the title. The 2-year-old rescue dog and her owner, Shannon Nyman, walked away with the $5,000 prize—enough to buy plenty of treats.
