In Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, the beasts are not merely magical creatures. They are heroes—and targets. Written by Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, the film is the second Fantastic Beasts movie in a planned series of five. It opens on November 16.r

Actor EDDIE REDMAYNE plays Newt Scamander, a quirky wizard who has spent his life rescuing and caring for magical creatures. When a powerful wizard named Gellert Grindelwald escapes from prison and unleashes a plan to rule over all non-magical beings, Newt steps in to help a young Albus Dumbledore restore order. r

Redmayne says The Crimes of Grindelwald teaches an important lesson. “All creatures need understanding,” he told TFK Kid Reporter Maria Suarez. “This film is about empathy for any person or creature.” With empathy, he adds, “you can see where they come from, and hopefully open your heart to them and understand why they’re behaving like they’re behaving.”
