Toy Story 5

Woody, Buzz, and their friends return for a story about the battle between technology and imagination, in Toy Story 5. Bonnie becomes attached to an electronic tablet called Lilypad. For SCARLETT SPEARS, 8, who voices Bonnie, imagination is part of what makes her character special. Spears says she connects with Bonnie because “we both love our toys . . . and have a big imagination.” Scarlett hopes audiences will see Bonnie as “a really kind girl” and enjoy the movie’s topics of “friendship, happiness,” and “the whole new concept” of tech versus toys. She says viewers might be surprised by the movie’s depth. The film is funny, but it also brings up “some things that are kind of hard to talk about,” Gordon says. —By TFK Kid Reporter Axel Foster
