You’ve probably read a book by author and illustrator Jerry Pinkney. He wrote more than a hundred of them. Now his granddaughter has written one about him. CHARNELLE PINKNEY BARLOW is an author and illustrator, too. Her book is called Two Artists, Grandad and Me. She spoke with TFK Kid Reporter Aubrey Lamirault about it.

“A lot of people know [my grandad’s] art,” Pinkney Barlow said. But “they didn’t get to go into his studio and watch him work.” The book takes readers there. Both art and memories are made in that studio. Pinkney Barlow shares what it was like to be there. She wants readers to know “there’s no wrong way to make art.”
