Homemade Pals
Tomasso is new at school. He has trouble finding friends. So he makes some, instead. There is a ball named Roland. And a milk carton called Coco. That is the story of Make New Friends, by Joshua David Stein.
Tomasso is nervous to tell his dad he has not made friends yet. Stein remembers how hard that could be. He told TIME for Kids he knows the feeling of being alone. But there is a happy ending. Tomasso opens up to his dad. “And his dad unconditionally loves him,” Stein says.
