What is Your Photo Story?

Reporters use writing to tell readers the news. Photojournalists use photographs. Sometimes, the pictures they make appear alongside a news story. But sometimes, the photos take center stage. In a photo essay, a photojournalist can tell a powerful story with few or no words. Photojournalists document important moments to show what or whom a story is about. In journalism, taking or selecting the right photos can bring a story to life. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words!

Junior Journalists, we want to know:

What’s your photo story? Have you taken a photograph that seems newsworthy? What story does it tell? Ask a teacher, parent, or guardian to share your photo with us at timeforkids.com/tfkpressclub or to send it to tfkpressclub@time.com.
