United States National Parks
National parks are natural areas that are protected by the government. Take a look at some of the national parks in the United States of America.
Yosemite National Park
This park is in California. There are giant sequoia trees. They can grow 300 feet tall.
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
Kilauea and Mauna Loa are two active volcanoes that are protected here.
Rocky Mountains National Park
The Rocky Mountains are in Colorado. The park is one of the highest in the United States.
The Grand Canyon
This park is in Arizona. The Colorado River has cut through the rock to form the canyon.
Did You Know?
The first national park was Yellowstone. It was founded on March 1, 1872. It is in parts of Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho.
