Happy Hikers

JOSHUA SUTTON—AP

On August 9, Harvey Sutton, 5, became one of the youngest people to have completed the Appalachian Trail. The trail is the world’s longest hiking-only footpath. One end is at Springer Mountain, in Georgia. The other is atop Mount Katahdin, in Maine.

Over 209 days, Harvey trekked more than 2,100 miles with his parents. Exploring nature and wildlife kept him entertained. “The rock scrambles were really fun and hard,” Harvey says. “We were not bored.”
