Corals look like rocks. But they are animals. They have a hard outer skeleton. Many corals make up a reef.

A reef is a home for many animals. These fish live there. They coexist with the reef. The turtle is just visiting.
This is the Great Barrier Reef.
It is the world’s largest coral reef system. Australia is nearby. The reef is so big, it can be seen from space.
Reefs are important.
They are home to lots of life. But they are in danger. Trash and warming waters are harmful to them. How can you help?
