Be Mindful

Mindfulness is a way to use your senses. It focuses you. Pay attention to what is happening now. This can help you relax. You can do this anywhere. Try the 5-4-3-2-1 method below.
Think of five things you are seeing.
Look up at the sky. Look down at your hands. Look all around.
Think of four things you are feeling.
Can you feel your feet on the ground? Maybe you feel an itch. Are you warm or cold?
Think of three things you are hearing.
The breeze, your body, and electronic devices all make sounds.
Think of two things you are smelling.
Breathe deeply through your nose. Do you smell anything?
Think of one thing you are tasting.
Is it bitter? Salty? Sweet? What do you taste?
