A frog goes through four stages of life. As the frog grows, it changes. This is called metamorphosis. Here are the four stages.

Egg Female frogs lay eggs. Tadpoles hatch from these eggs. It takes from one to three weeks for the eggs to hatch.

Tadpole A tadpole is born with a tail but no legs. The tadpole lives in water. It breathes with gills.

Froglet A tadpole grows into a froglet. The froglet has legs for hopping. It breathes with lungs.

Frog A froglet grows into an adult frog. An adult frog has no tail. A new life cycle begins when a female frog lays eggs.
